Furthermore, copper has been shown to contribute to the normal functioning of the nervous system, normal pigmentation of hair and skin, and is involved in the transfer of iron in the body.

Cl | Chlorine

In the human body, chlorine is important in the form of chloride, where it occurs mainly together with sodium and contributes to the osmotic pressure of body fluids. Hydrochloric acid is a component of gastric juices. Consumption of chloride has been shown to contribute to normal digestion by producing hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Chlorides are a natural part of the plant ingredients from which Mana is made.

F | Fluorine

The function of fluorine in the form of fluoride in the body is to mineralise bones and teeth. It is important for enamel hardness, bone matrix stability and bone density. In trace amounts, fluoride is a natural part of the plant ingredients from which Mana is made.

Na | Sodium

Sodium belongs to the biogenic elements and is a part of the human body, where it is mainly found in extracellular body fluids in the form of Na+ ion. Together with potassium, sodium is involved in nerve signal transmission and muscle function. Sodium is already a natural part of the ingredients from which Mana is made, and we also add sodium in the form of sodium chloride salt.

S | Sulphur

Sulphur is an essential element for humans. In food, sulphur is found as part of the sulphur amino acids methionine, cysteine or taurine. It also forms the vitamins thiamine and biotin and other important compounds such as the plant glucosinolates (GSL) and the cellular antioxidant glutathione (GSH). Sulphur is already a natural part of the natural ingredients from which Mana is made.

B | Boron

Boron is a trace mineral that occurs naturally in many plant foods, such as fruits and legumes. Boron is largely recognised as beneficial for bone health as it may play a role in bone formation and calcium metabolism.

Ni | Nickel

The level of nickel in food depends on the plant species and the nickel content of the soil. Small amounts of nickel can be found in cereals, legumes, including soy products, fruits and vegetables. Its biological role in humans is under study. The tolerable daily intake of nickel according to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) is set at 2,8 μg/kg body weight. Mana contains nickel only in micrograms, i.e. a perfectly safe level.

Li | Lithium

Lithium is found in trace amounts in many foods, including potatoes, tomatoes, cereals, cabbage and mineral water. From laboratory analysis, we know that one serving of Mana contains a few micrograms of lithium. Lithium in trace amounts can improve brain health and function.

Br | Bromine

Bromides are used by eosinophilic leukocytes for immune defence. Bromides are found in trace amounts in cereals, nuts, sea salt and seafood.

Si | Silicon

Silicon is found in foods in the form of silica and silicates. It plays a key role in connective tissue formation, collagen synthesis and is also necessary for bone health. The best sources of silicon are whole grain cereals, root vegetables, legumes and drinking water.

Our Mission?

For a Better Life

Technology
With the help of technology, everything is possible. A better life, strengthened health, and for the first time in human history, we have the opportunity to solve disproportionalities and questions about production and health that have gone unanswered for far too long.
Low Impact
We are creating supply chains that remove carbon footprints, support arable land and restore biodiversity. And we're building models that other producers can use.
Renewable Resources

How to enjoy Mana?

Drink Mana regularly for at least 1 month and a revitalising effect will occur.

ManaPowder Simply mix with water

Just scoop the required amount of powder with our Mana scoop and mix with water. You don't have to count anything. One scoop is 43 g of powder (200 kcal) and the Mana bottle tells you the correct ratio of water and ManaPowder. Scoop, shake, drink! And it's done before the chef has even gotten the pan out!

ManaDrink Simply open and drink

We've premixed the drink for you in the perfect proportions. Just shake, open and enjoy the symphony of flavour and nourishment. The drink is ideal for when you don't have access to water. And it makes a great snack for kids. Just put it in your backpack and let’s go!

ManaBurger Just throw it on the grill

Perfectly balanced and 100% plant-based, the ManaBurger is there for you when you need a bite to eat. It gives you a balanced amount of nutrients and is rich in protein. You can serve it in a traditional bun with your favourite condiments and veggies or enjoy it “naked” just as it is. We, for example, love it cut in chunks inside a burrito!

Some questions were left unanswered?

Who is Mana intended for?
Mana is a nutritionally complete and modern alternative to traditional food intended for healthy adults, as well as children aged 3 and older. Mana can be consumed any time you need a healthy, convenient, and cost-effective meal. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks.

For healthy adults, Mana is designed to be a full replacement for any and every meal. This means that you can live on a diet consisting exclusively of Mana, or simply use it to replace individual meals or snacks. How often you eat it is entirely up to you.

For children and adolescents between 3 and 18 years of age, Mana should not serve as a full diet replacement, but as an addition to a balanced diet. Detailed information on how to portion Mana for children and adolescents can be found here.

Mana is currently not intended for diagnostic or medicinal purposes. Although many of our customers have reported that Mana has helped them overcome health issues or dietary limitations, both serious and non-serious (e.g. food allergies, food intolerances, diabetes, dyslipidemia...), we strongly recommend consulting with a professional physician before consuming Mana during periods of illness or other health restrictions, pregnancy, or breastfeeding.

What products do we offer?
Mana currently offers three core foods: ManaPowder (a nutritionally complete powder mixable with water), ManaDrink (a ready-made, nutritionally complete drink) and ManaBurger (the first nutritionally complete burger). All foods on offer can be found here.

ManaPowder is a nutritionally complete, sustainable, and plant-based food powder that provides your body with all the nutrients it needs to be healthy. Our latest recipe contains our most varied spectrum of nutrients and natural ingredients to date. The powder is mixable with water for a full meal in 1 minute. The standard serving size delivers 400 kcal and is the equivalent of 86 g/2 Mana scoops/5 heaped tablespoons of powder + 300 ml of water.

ManaDrink is a nutritionally complete, sustainable, and plant-based food in the form of a ready-made drink. The biggest advantage of this form of Mana is its convenience—it requires no preparation and does not need to be refrigerated. All you have to do is open and drink. Each 330 ml drink delivers 330 kcal.

Last but not least, we have developed the ManaBurger—a complete-nutrition plant burger patty intended as a full alternative to beef. Each serving (130 g) delivers 300 kcal and contains all vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients your body needs in balanced proportions. The ManaBurger is frozen. Once defrosted, it can be prepared on a pan, on a grill, or in the oven. More cooking ideas can be found here.

We also offer a number of accessories, such as the Starter Kit for ManaPowder, which includes a durable, Mana-branded bottle and stainless steel measuring scoop. The Starter Kit does not come with ManaPowder and must be ordered separately. In case you have your own bottle, the stainless steel measuring scoop can also be ordered separately. We offer a number of other accessories as well. See our accessory page for an updated list.
How does Mana taste?
Origin is our original and most popular flavour, and has a creamy and neutral taste. Some people compare it to lightly sweetened cake batter; others compare it to oatmeal. Though individual associations differ, there’s one thing we hear consistently: the taste gets better and better over time.

You can find our other powder and drink flavours here

Do the drink and powder taste different? Yes, there is a slight variation in flavour caused by different production processes. The advantage of ManaPowder is that its consistency and portion size are fully adjustable. Some like it as a snack, some as a main meal; some like it thick, some like it thin. The advantage of ManaDrink is that you can literally just grab it and go. Regardless of form or preference, what matters most is that they both give your body all the nutrients it needs.

There is also a slight difference in the composition of the drink and powder. ManaPowder contains acacia and xanthan gum, which make it creamier. Acacia gum is a source of fibre. ManaDrink, on the other hand, contains a cellulose-based thickener. This is because the fibre content had to be adapted to ready-to-drink format. A serving of ManaDrink contains slightly less fibre than a serving of ManaPowder.

All flavours, especially Origin, can be combined with other ingredients. Your imagination is the limit, but we recommend trying them with fruit, vegetables, spices, coffee, or nut butters. For inspiration, you can check out ourrecipe page.

And how does ManaBurger taste? Our plant-based meat alternative tastes, smells and looks similar to a ground beef burger. It's made with only plant-based ingredients, contains 5 plant proteins (pea, rice, hemp, mung and algae) and is gluten-free.

How to prepare Mana?
Preparation of ManaPowder is very simple. For a 400-kcal serving, just mix 86 g of powder with 300 ml of room-temperature or cold water. One Mana scoop is 43 g, so 2 scoops will give you the exact amount you need for 1 serving. If you don’t have the Mana scoop, 5 heaped tablespoons is a good approximation.

These instructions are only for preparation of a standard serving. In practice, you can mix Mana according to your own caloric needs and consistency preferences. Complete mixing instructions can be found here. In the case of ManaDrink, all you have to do is shake, open, and drink.

Mana can be used to replace just one or two meals per day, or it can serve as a full replacement for your entire diet. If you decide to use it as a full replacement for your entire diet, the recommended daily intake of ManaPowder is 5 x 400 kcal (1 whole pouch), while the recommended daily intake of ManaDrink is 6 bottles x 330 kcal. These recommended daily intakes are based on the reference values for daily energy intake for the average adult, so we recommend adapting your intake to your own personal needs.

Once mixed with water, ManaPowder is intended for immediate consumption, though it can be kept for up to 24 hours in a closed, refrigerated bottle. ManaDrink should be consumed immediately after opening.

ManaBurger is also simple and quick to prepare. Bake the defrosted burger on a griddle, in the oven or on the grill. Regular oil can be used, but we recommend preparing it without oil. Grill or broil for 3 minutes on each side. The surface of the ManaBurger will be golden and crispy, while the inside is beautifully pink and juicy. Serve and enjoy warm.

Can Mana help me lose/gain/maintain weight?
The main advantageYou can lose, gain, or maintain weight with Mana just like with any other food. Follow these general rules:

  • To lose weight, make sure that your energy intake is less than your energy expenditure, and that you get enough vitamins and minerals.
  • To gain weight, make sure that your energy intake is more than your energy expenditure.
  • To maintain weight, make sure that your energy intake matches your energy expenditure.

  • The main advantage of Mana when doing any of these is the fact that it is simple to portion and its nutritional values are clear, so you can easily count calories and monitor your intake of individual nutrients. Serving sizes and/or number of servings should be adapted to your specific physical needs, as dictated by weight, height, gender, age, and lifestyle. Always keep in mind that Mana is a whole food, not a supplement.

Online calorie charts and calculators, mobile apps, and sports/smart watches can help you determine what daily energy intake is right for you.
    Any tips on getting started?
ManaPowder, ManaDrink and ManaBurger are nutritionally complete, plant-based foods that give your body everything it needs to be healthy. They can be used to replace just one or two meals per day, or they can serve as full replacements for your entire diet.

If you plan on making Mana more than just a snack, we recommend gradually integrating it into your diet over the course of a week or so. Don't replace all meals at once. Your body might need a bit of time to get used to the high amounts of protein and fibre in Mana.

Try using Mana to replace just one meal per day for the first 2 days. Then for the next 2 days, use it to replace 2 meals per day, and so on. Your body may need at least a week to adjust. How long exactly will depend on several individual factors, but the primary one will be your previous eating habits.
What is the best way to prepare a serving of Mana?
ManaDrink is a ready-to-drink food that requires no preparation. All you have to do is shake, open, and drink. Each bottle counts as one serving and delivers 330 kcal. Consume immediately after opening.

One standard serving of ManaPowder (400 kcal) is 86 g of powder mixed with 300 ml of lukewarm or cold water. One Mana scoop is 200 kcal/43 g of powder, so 2 scoops is the exact measure you need for one serving. If you don't have the scoop, 5 heaped tablespoons is a good approximation. Though this is our standard serving, feel free to adjust portion size according to your caloric needs. Click here for a complete preparation guide.

To mix ManaPowder, use a sealed bottle or blender. Ideal for mixing is our Starter Kit, which includes the high-quality stainless steel Mana scoop and a 1-litre BPA/BPS-free Nalgene bottle.

Freshly mixed Mana is intended for immediate consumption, though it can keep for up to 24 hours in a sealed bottle in the refrigerator. If it is not possible to refrigerate your Mana after it's mixed, we recommend consuming it quickly. ManaPowder can also be used to bake cakes, pies, or other healthy dishes. But if you use it in this way, keep in mind that its nutritional and energy values may change.

ManaBurger also has simple and quick preparation. Grill the defrosted burger on a griddle, in the oven or on the grill. Oil can be used, but we recommend preparing it without it. Grill or broil for 3 minutes on each side. The surface of the ManaBurger will be golden and crispy, while the inside is beautifully pink and juicy. Serve and enjoy warm.

One ManaBurger without side dishes has an energy value of 300 kcal and only 4 g of carbohydrates. If you prepare it like a real burger, including bun, dressing, lettuce and cheese, the resulting calorie value is approximately 550 - 600 kcal. Check out our recipe page for some tips on how to prepare our vegetable burger.
How much Mana do I need daily for an all-Mana diet?
If you decide to adopt an all-Mana diet, the recommended daily portion of ManaPowder is five 400-kcal servings or six 330-kcal bottles of ManaDrink.

These amounts are based on the reference values for energy intake for the average adult (2,000 kcal), so we recommend adjusting intake to your individual energy needs. In other words, your daily caloric intake should reflect your physiological needs as dictated by height, weight, age, level of physical activity, etc. You can find our portioning guide here.

How often you decide to consume Mana is purely up to you. You can use it to replace only one or two meals per day, or just use it when you're in a rush or don't feel like cooking. In short, Mana has been developed to be a complete food that can replace your entire diet, but which is also entirely suitable for less frequent use.

Mana should not be used as a complete diet replacement for children and adolescents, but rather as a nutritious snack. Detailed information on how to portion Mana for children and adolescents can be found here.

ManaBurger is also nutritionally complete and suitable for a 100% regime, however, we do not assume that anyone would eat only this food. Rather, our burger is supposed to serve as a healthy alternative to beef, even on a daily basis. :)
    How should Mana be stored?
ManaDrink and ManaPowder should be stored in a dark and dry place at a temperature of 10-25 °C. ManaDrink can also be stored in the refrigerator, but this is not necessary.

Thanks to high-tech packaging and natural antioxidants, ManaDrink keeps for 12 months from the date of manufacture and ManaPowder keeps for 18 months from the date of manufacture.

Once opened, the shelf life of a pouch of ManaPowder is 1 month. After every use, the pouches should be sealed using the ziplock. In the case of the Family Pack, we recommend transferring the contents to airtight containers and storing in the dark after opening. This will extend the shelf life of the powder to 6 months from the date of opening.

Mana is a food with a minimum shelf life. In general, it is possible to consume foods after the expiration of their minimum shelf life, with the caveat that the amounts of some nutrients may be diminished. Expired foods may be perfectly fine for consumption if their storage instructions have been followed and if their sensory properties have not been compromised (i.e. taste and smell).
Can Mana be combined with other foods or supplements?
Mana is nutritionally complete food that has been developed to cover 100% of the diet in the long term. Although Mana tastes great on its own, all flavours and especially Origin can be combined with other foods (e.g. fruit, vegetables, ...) or other ingredients (vanilla, spices, chocolate, ...). You should keep in mind that this will be reflected in the final caloric and nutritional value.

If you want to use Mana as a base for tasty and healthy smoothies, there are no limits to your imagination. You can try adding fruit, spices, orange juice, coffee, nuts, nut butters or vegetables. For inspiration, head over to our recipe page.

    Combination with supplements

If you decide to combine Mana with dietary supplements, be sure not to exceed the recommended daily nutrient intake. For example, long-term excessive protein intake can burden the liver and kidneys. Detailed information about the nutrients in ManaPowder Origin can be found here. Detailed information about the nutrients in all other products can be found here.

If in doubt about how to properly combine Mana with nutritional supplements, we recommend consulting a dietician or nutritionist.
